On June 20th in Fiesole the National Premiere of the Company newest production
On Friday, June 20th at 9:15 PM at the Teatro di Fiesole (Largo Piero Farulli 1) the 2025 edition of the Estate Fiesolana hosts the national premiere of “La Madrina,” new production by MOTUS. The show, produced with the support of Regione Toscana, explores, with a strong dose of irony, the social, economic, and psychological dynamics that feed the mafia phenomenon. The aim is to contribute to a reflection on the causes of the phenomenon (ignorance, poverty, superstition and corruption), emphasizing the idea that the mafia is not just an individual problem, but a global systemic factor that involves communities at every level. As Rita Atria, a judicial witness who died at only 17 years old on July 26, 1992, wrote, “Before fighting mafia you need to do some soul-searching and then, once the mafia inside you has been defeated, you can start fighting the mafia which is present in your circle of friends. The mafia is us and our wrong behaviours”
“La Madrina” was born from a survey conducted by the Company among spectators regarding the issues that most afflict them. It revealed that the majority are no longer willing to tolerate behavior models based on force, on symbolic or real violence, and on the manipulation of social relations to consolidate power and control, to the detriment of the collective interest and justice, can be traced back to what is commonly called the “mafia method”, a common element in many contemporary societies.
The show, with a concept by Rosanna Cieri, choreography by Martina Agricoli, and direction by Rosanna and Simona Cieri, is performed by Martina Agricoli, Ilaria Fratantuono, Roberta Morello, Mattia Solano and Eleonora Pucci.
The 78th edition of ESTATE FIESOLANA is organized by PRG Srl and Associazione Music Pool , winners of the tender issued by the Municipality of Fiesole for the management of the Estate Fiesolana, together with the Municipal Administration of Fiesole and will take place at the Roman Theater of Fiesole.
