On Saturday, September 30 at 6:00 PM, the first season event of the ‘Aperitivi in Danza’ Festival organized by MOTUS.

The first event of the new season of “Aperitivi in Danza” Festival, organized by the MOTUS Company, on Saturday, September 30 at 6:00 PM at the International Center of Art (Via Mencattelli 5/7, Siena) will host Maria Mansueto’s exhibition. The exhibition title “Fatti di Stelle” (Made of Stars), is inspired by the painting created in 2019 for the event “I colori dell’umanità” (The Colors of Humanity). With this exhibition, the artist wants to draw attention to the fact that the human race shares a common origin with the stars. In fact, humans are made of carbon, and the physical characteristics are not responsible for each person’s uniqueness but rather the experiences and emotions of each one that coexist with a desperate desire for love, as reflected in the etymology of the italian word “desiderare” (wish) from the Latin ‘sidera‘ (star) and ‘de-sidera‘ (without the stars).
Having a degree in Pedagogy, Maria Mansueto cultivated her passion for art alongside her teaching profession. She organized and participated in many collective exhibitions in Italy. In 2020, she took part in the Universal Expo in Dubai, and her work “Come pagine di un libro il territorio” (The Territory, like book pages) is permanently exposed at the Pinacoteca of Frosinone (Italy). Her artistic research is fueled by a constant exploration of the meaning of human existence and the choices it entails in terms of individual and collective responsibility.
The event continue with the presentation of the book “Storie di madri” (Stories of Mothers) with the participation of the author, Dr. Susanna Baldi. Born in Siena, Susanna Baldi lives and works in Milan as a psychoanalyst psychotherapist and consultant in various healthcare and other corporate contexts. She published many scientific articles on different review and has recently started her writing of novels, with several stories such as “La Via del Mandorlo” (The Almond Tree Road), “Un profumo di madre” (Scent of Mother), “Gli occhi nelle lacrime” (Eyes in Tears) that received numerous literary awards and significant recognitions.
Love is the main character of each story, even when its absence is perceived through reading, particularly when it is difficult for it to find space, such as in an orphanage where the absence of love is frightening. Other times, love is intense and intimate, accompanied by the pain caused by the loss of close people and the hope of learning to live with it. The book ends with a important story about the life of Lea, a survivor of the Nazi-fascist massacre in Vinca, that brings each reader through the hard experience of a war which cannot be softened.
During the evening, as usually, a buffet is offered, allowing the audience to meet the artists in a convivial atmosphere.
The ticket cost is 10 euros (reduced 8 euros), and reservations are recommended.
