After New York, New Orleans and Berlin, “LACUNA” arrives at Alfieri Theatre in Castelnuovo B.ga within the “Move Off” festival directed by MOTUS .
On May 12th at 9:00 pm the third event of “Move Off”, Contemporary dance International Festival, organized at Vittorio Alfieri theatre in Castelnuovo Berardenga by MOTUS, in collaboration with the Municipality of Castelnuovo B.ga and the support of ChiantiBanca, hosts the show “LACUNA” by Marcozzi Contemporary Theatre (Germany) on May 12th at 9pm. The show has been realised in collaboration with the Expedition Metropolis Theatre of Berlin and the Theaterhaus Berlin Mitte, a production centre for the promotion of indipendent theatre.
Between 2015 and 2019, Daniela Marcozzi, choreographer, performer, director, trainer and researcher, born in Bologna, created in Berlin the “Trilogy of Power”, a progression of self-biographical shows whose second chapter is precisely “Lacuna” a work presented with success in Berlin, New York and New Orleans, realised with the artistic support of Peter Rose/Practical Works and the writing support of Christina Kyriazidi. The show’s inspiration is the massacre of Bologna railway station, occurred for a terrorist attack on August 2, 1980 when a device was placed in the waiting room of the central station, causing the death of 85 people and the injury of 200. Daniela Marcozzi’s father, railway engineer, should have been at the station at the time of the explosion but a unexpected delay saved his life. Daniela asks herself: “Why the Italian government creates a memorial for the victims of the bombing if they impose a state secret at the same time? What is the real meaning of “state secret”? Where are those informations hidden? In a computer? In a human body?”. “Lacuna” explores the influence that the political power exercises on individual bodies and minds, in their whole existence. “Lacuna” develops the idea that if a thought exists only if a body can host it, then a secret has to be erased from the body which houses it.

The second part of the event hosts the Acatama Company (Italy/Chile) , directed by Patrizia Cavola and Ivan Truol, bringing on stage Io,Lei, Me , a solo with the dancer Valeria Baresi .
A woman dances on the fragmented notes of Patrizia Hartman, with her face covered by a tin box; a sobbing interpretation of an hidden and trapped femininity, but evoked in every single movement.
In the silence, the box is left apart and the dancer starts a self-discover journey, going through the multiple shades of the human being in a grotesque but emotional way; everything’s conveyed by a thin fusion between onomatopeic sounds and aimed gestures.
The next double date of Move Off at Alfieri Theatre is scheduled for the 23th of May; it will see on stage the Petranuradanza Company (Italy) and the spanish dancers L. Montes and M. Dallery, winners of the Move Off call for young choreographers.
The entrance ticket is € 12,00 (€ 10 reduced).
