Move Off Festival 2014 starts with a double international Premiere ….

Motus and ODT Main Company, together again for the Festival Off Move 2014, will present the world premiere of “MOMENTS” and “IL BELLO INTORNO”, on 8 June at 6:00 p.m. at Teatro Comunale Vittorio Alfieri in Castelnuovo Berardenga, and on 10 June at 9.00 p.m. at Teatro dei Rozzi, .
“MOMEN
TS” is a new work choreographed by Danny Tan, ODT Artistic Director , which deepens the feelings of human beings through the dramatic force of dance theater, catching the very essence of humanity. “MOMENTS” is inspired by various artists who have collaborated with the ODT during its growth, and it is a way to share with the audience the various challenges faced during their artistic development.
“IL BELLO INTORNO” it is world premiere of a short work choreographed by Simona Cieri, which is a prelude to a new production of the MOTUS Company dedicated to our country (Italy).
This year the opening event of the festival Move Off also wants to send a message for the future, presenting the dance scene as a whole, from children who begin their path toward the dance, to dancers who have already chosen to undertake the art of dancing career.
Thus, in addition to the shows of the international companies (MOTUS and ODT) there will be the performances of the young dancers undergoing the professional advancement courses at the International Art Center presenting some choreographies from the repertoire of the MOTUS Company created by Simona Cieri . Afterwards, the stage will be left to children and young dance students presenting “Future Geometries” a choreography by Martina Agricoli, Simona Gori, Andrè Alma and Simona Cieri. The choice to put on stage all generations is aimed to show how well the current economic crisis can be overcome through enhancement of cultural activities. A message of hope which wants to be a good omen for the candidacy of Siena as European Capital of Culture 2019.
The activities of the Festival will also be supported by interesting training programs, such as the stage planned on June 9 at 5 p.m. at the new International Art Centre in Mencattelli 5/7 street (San Prospero) where Dr. Danny Tan, ODT choreographer , will teach in a workshop for dancers open to the city.
