Before fighting mafia you need to do some soul-searching and then, once the mafia inside you has been defeated, you can start fighting the mafia which is present in your circle of friends. The mafia is us and our wrong behaviours

Behavior models that are based on force, on symbolic or concrete violence and on the manipulation of social relations with the aim to consolidate power and control, against collective interest and justice, can be traced back to what is commonly called the “mafia method”, a common element in many contemporary societies.
Ignorance, poverty, superstition, subordination and corruption are the social, economic and psychological dynamics that feed the mafia phenomenon.

“The Godmother” explores these mechanisms with a strong dose of irony, emphasizing the idea that the mafia is not just an individual problem, but a global systemic factor that involves communities at every level.
