Ruoli e identità di genere tra letteratura e arti performative”. The meeting of different languages will be an opportunity to discuss how bodies elaborate, signify and build on themselves the gender. The following day, Saturday, December 7, the program continues with the most strictly artistic part, within the “Aperitivi in Danza” organized by MOTUS at the Centro Internazionale d’Arte in Siena (Via Mencattelli 5/7, San Prospero). The event starts at 6:00 pm with the opening of the collective exhibition “Man = Woman?” , curated by Fotografi in Movimento. The exhibition questions gender roles, whith their cultural, religious, political and economic roots, representing the first ground in which power has manifested itself through the manipulation of biological differences. The title of the exhibition refers to the biological difference between male and female: “Man = Woman?” But if “=” is a mathematical symbol used to compare two elements and check whether they are equal, the question mark represents philosophy: love for knowledge without giving a judgment.

After the opening of the exhibition, “Sonny”, a performance conceived and performed by Nataša Živković, Slovenian choreographer, dancer and actress. “Sonny” is an attempt at an anthropological research in a performative form, which brings on the stage the stories of the sworn virgins (or “virginas”) from the remote parts of Montenegro, Albania, Kosovo and Metohija. It is a hole in the system which maintains that same system. It is a drag in relation to the question of surviving in a man’s world, asking us in what world we live. The show is produced by City of Women and co-produced by Bunker – Old Power Station, with the support of the Slovenian Ministry of Culture and the City of Ljubljana.

During the event as usual, a buffet will be offered, to facilitate the interaction between audience and artists in a convivial atmosphere.

The event is also included in the program of ” Notte Rossa dei Circoli Arci della Toscana”.

Tickets: € 12 (reduced: € 10). Reservation recommended (info@motusdanza.it or +39 0577286980)
