ON 29 SEPTEMBER AT THE TOR BELLA MONACA THEATER THE INTERNATIONAL CONTEMPORARY DANCE FESTIVAL DIRECTED BY PATRIZIA CAVOLA PRESENTS THE REGIONAL PREMIERE “DIS-CRIMINE” OF THE MOTUS COMPANY
On Saturday 29 September at 9.30 pm and on Sunday 30 September at 6.30 pm at the Tor Bella Monaca Theater two events dedicated to the MOTUS Company’s dance with the show “DIS-CRIMINE”, in the frame of the TBM DANZA Festival directed by Patrizia Cavola .
The show refers to the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and assumes a special meaning, since it will be presented during the national day against all racism: a warning to people who, in the name of a supposed defense of the rights of a few, proclaim themselves judges of everything that does not fit the established parameters. “DIS-CRIMINE” invites the spectators to reflect on the contradictions of a world that wraps itself, raising real and virtual walls, in order to defend the interests of a few. “Around us are happening some events that we believed relegated to history books – as Rosanna Cieri, director of the MOTUS Company, says – The resentment towards the diversity, recalls the darkest periods of our past. In this situation we cannot refrain and artists have the moral duty to take a position “.
The work that MOTUS brings on the scene, produced with the support of Tuscany Region, deals with the issue of all kind of discriminations and is also inspired by the Palestinian photographer and artist Nidaa Badwan, who locked herself for fourteen months in her room to protest against Hamas militiamen who did not recognize her right to be a woman and an artist. Martina Agricoli, Andrè Alma, Elisa Bartoli, Ilaria Fratantuono, Roberta Morello, Mattia Solano and Andrea Stabilini dance on the choreography of Simona Cieri. The show is directed by Simona and Rosanna Cieri on original music composed by the cellist Andrea Rellini.
