From 5 to 10 November the MOTUS Company is on tour
In November, the MOTUS Company comes back on international stages with the show “DIS-CRIMINE” (“Discrimination”), one of the latest productions of the Company, realized in collaboration with the cellist Andrea Rellini, who composes the original music of the show, and with the support of the Tuscany Region. The Company will undertake an international tour in Albania and Kosovo, thanks to the support of the Italian Institute of Culture in Tirana.
“DIS-CRIMINE”, premiered at the Vijecnica (National Library) of Sarajevo on the anniversary of its destruction, has had a huge success in Italy and abroad. The work will be presented in National Premiere on Wednesday 6th November at 7 p.m at the Turbina Theater of Tirana, in the framework of Albania Dance Meeting – Festival. The festival, founded in 2006 by the choreographer Gjergj Prevazi, is the most important contemporary dance festival in Albania and hosts dance companies from all over the world, with a particular focus on innovation and new trends.
After the show in Tirana, the Company will move to Pristina in Kosovo, where the show will be replicated on Thursday 8th November at 8 p.m at the Oda Theater in Pristina.
The show is inspired by Article 2 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, condemning all forms of discrimination, from those of race to those of sex, from those of religion to those of political opinion. The show is interpreted by the dancers Martina Agricoli, Andrè Alma, Elisa Bartoli, Ilaria Fratantuono, Mattia Solano, Roberta Morello, Andrea Stabilini, on choreography by Simona Cieri and it reveals the contradictions of a world that wraps itself, erecting fences to safeguard the interests of a few, without perceiving that everything could change from one moment to the next, turning the discriminators into discriminates.
