On Tuesday December, 12, at 8.30 at the Centro Internazionale d’Arte in Siena, the new appointment of “Aperitivi in danza” Festival offers an evening dedicated to the theme of solidarity with a rich program, including a photographic exhibition, a video, a book presentation and a performance.
The theme is the solidarity between Siena and San Ginesio, a town in the Marche Region hit by the earthquake, to which Siena is linked by historical facts and by a sort of ancient “twinning”: in the15th century, a group of exiles from San Ginesio reached Siena and stood out for their loyalty and value, to the point that the Sienese ambassadors obtained the return of three hundred exiles to San Ginesio.
The collective photographic exhibition by Mauro Agnesoni, Luca Betti and Luciana Petti are inspired by the earthquake, as well as the video #SIENAPERSANGINESIO by Tommaso De Sando.
The opening of the exhibition will be followed by the presentation, by Letizia Bracci, of the book “Il ritorno degli esuli”, edited by Betti Editore. The book, which collects10 stories, inspired by the theme of the “return of the exiles”, was born with the aim of not turning off the spotlight on the town of San Ginesio once the post-earthquake emergency has been overcome. A declaration of friendship, signed by numerous authors – including Pino Imperatore and Paolo Ciampi.
In the second part of the evening, the MOTUS Company will present “Rebirth”, a short performance choreographed by Simona Cieri.
At the end of the evening, a buffet will be offered during which the public can meet the artists while tasting and admiring the exhibition. During the event, the audience will also have the opportunity to contribute with an act of solidarity by purchasing the book “Il ritorno degli esuli”, since half of the income will be donated to the Tradizioni Sanginesine Association.
Ticket: € 10. Reservations are recommended.
