The cult of aesthetic values is such that only what is considered beautiful can also be good, and tends to use\u00a0beauty as an indicator\u00a0of the qualities of a person.
\nThus, for many women, in particular for the very young girls, having a body that respects the prevailing aesthetic canons becomes a must\u00a0for social relations.
\nWhen everything is based on\u00a0the body as a source of autonomy, control and security, it is essential to change eating habits up to the extreme choice\u00a0to\u00a0refuse food, in order to create a “protected” environment\u00a0 both physically and on the affective, cognitive and social level.
\nFor the\u00a0previous generations of women, the body was the place of reflection and feminist practice, but the current fragmentation of society and the consequent need for security that uncertain conditions\u00a0bring, \u00a0lead to a “re-signification” of the body. The search for a dimension of body-safe, is expressed through various processes, from piercings to tattoos to plastic surgery. These actions serve to give to the body\u00a0a meaning, which is not collective but self-made, unique and individual. The need for security and the response to the uncertanty\u00a0of existence pass through these body resignification techniques that invest in an all-encompassing people of the rich world countries, so as to transform the body into a place to experience speculations and market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
