<\/a><\/p>\nOn Thursday, August 1, at 9.15pm, the Montarrenti Castle (Sovicille) hosts the dance of the MOTUS Company, presenting the show “INVIDIA”, after the succesful Premiere at the Estate Fiesolana Festival. The brand new work of the MOTUS Company, produced with the support of the Tuscany Region, is included in the program of the “Sovicille d’Estate” Festival, born from the collaboration between Comune di Sovicille and Fondazione Toscana Spettacolo onlus.<\/p>\n
\u201cINVIDIA\u201d explores the genesis of a silent evil that spreads and pollutes people, governments, the whole society, turning into hate and killing others but, most of all, destroying those who experience it.\u00a0<\/p>\n
As the etimology of the word suggests (invidere<\/em>\u00a0in latin means \u201clooking in side eye\u201d) envy is nothing more than a sense of grudge and anger against qualities, properties and success of another person. Actually \u201cthe grass of the neighbor is always greener\u201d is a matter of facts: it\u2019s easier to project dissatisfaction envying the grass of the others instead of appreaciating the grass we have and take care of it.<\/p>\nIn the Divina Commedia, the envious work under cloaks of lead, with their eyes tightly sewed,\u00a0 meaning with this that envious are blind in front of the full picture.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Even if envy is a feeling deeply rooted in the human psyche, and common to people of all times, it has never been\u00a0 problem as serious as today. With the advent of social media, according to Ethan Kross, professor of psychology at the University of Michigan who studies the impact of Facebook on our health, \u201cenvy has been taken to the edge\u201d. We are constantly bombed by \u2018photoshopped lives\u2019 and this has an impact that we have never experienced in the history of our specie.\u201d<\/p>\n
MOTUS brings on stage the real war of annihilation taking place in the Internet era, nourished by the fire of envy, in which measuring up with everything appears on the net and social media is almost an unavoidable obligation.
The show, with concept by Rosanna Cieri and choreography by Simona Cieri on various artist music, is performed by Martina Agricoli, Ilaria Fratantuono, Roberta Morello and Mattia Solano.<\/p>\n
