The new appointment of the 2023-2024 season of the “Aperitivi in danza” series.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

On Saturday, October 28 2023, at 6:30 PM, the new appointment of the “Aperitivi in danza” festival, organized by MOTUS at the Centro Internazionale d\u2019Arte (Via Mencattelli 5\/7, Siena, Italy) features the exhibition “Un\u2019emozione diversa” (“A different emotion”) by Rino Conforti and the contemporary dance performance “Get up” by the Sicilian Company Petranuradanza.<\/p>\n

The exhibition “Un\u2019emozione diversa” showcases some of the most significant works of Rino Conforti, a versatile artist from Siena able of mastering multiple techniques described as “contemporary” in sense of materials and solutions, so that leading him to the point of becoming a “timeless man” as stated by Michele Maccherini. Rino Conforti’s education began in the carpentry workshop beneath his house, then continued at the Duccio di Buoninsegna Art Institute with Plinio Tammaro. He graduated in sculpture from the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence under the guidance of Antonio Berti, a student of Libero Andreotti. In addition to his artistic knowledge, he acquired theoretical expertise, getting a degree in Architecture.<\/p>\n

He cultivates his passion for art along with his profession as a professor at the Duccio di Buoninsegna Art Institute in Siena, either participating in collective exhibitions and achieving success with personal exhibitions.<\/p>\n

In his artistic activity, Rino Conforti uses a wide variety of materials, ranging from the most traditional forms to abstraction including wood, cast and embossed metal, bronze, silver, gold, marble, plaster, terracotta, ceramics, glass, crystal, plexiglass, paper, fabric, as well as simple objects he finds on his way like feathers, leaves, twine, and shells. The topics recurring in his creative work are the human figure, and in particular the female form, the different shapes and their interaction with the space, as well as the symbol of the Contradas.<\/p>\n

The second part of the event showcases a performance by the Petranuradanza company, a term derived from the Sicilian vocabulary meaning “Naked Stone” and symbolically evoking the magmatic action of Mount Etna, a destructive yet simultaneously generative force capable to continuously renew its appearance.<\/p>\n

The choreographers of the company, Salvatore Romania and Laura Odierna- associated artists for the three-year period 2022-2024 with Scenario Pubblico\/Compagnia Zappal\u00e0 danza – present a versatile and original choreographic language, supported by know-how aquired during the years studying and researching the origin and evolution of movement. In their works, the body is both the “text” and the “context,” to be explored through musicality and dynamism. In “Get up,” featuring music by Giovanni Cultrera and performed by the dancers Francesco Bax, Caterina Lanzafame, Konstyantyn Hryhor\u2019yev, Romania and Odierna analyse the condition of the human being when discovering the spirit that enables control over the body and emotions. It implies an understanding that humans are the only living beings capable of questioning the meaning of their existence and setting its direction and purpose. “Get up” is, therefore, an encouragement to free oneself from the quicksands in which one is trapped, a quest for those imperceptible flows running through the world and impacting the human being as a whole.<\/p>\n

As usually, the event includes a buffet, allowing the audience to meet the artists in a convivial atmosphere.<\/p>\n
